Travel Tips
On my trip abroad, my husband and I were excited to board our flight from the US to London, especially after receiving a complimentary first-class upgrade due to a delay. While we anticipated our luxurious journey, we joked about whether one of the deplaned bags was ours—and it turned out to be my luggage!
Since we were on a bus tour, my suitcase arrived a month later.
My tip is to try and use only a carry-on that stays under your control or mix your outfits in the suitcase of your travel companion. Luckily, we mixed our outfits, so I had some changes.
Next tip, how to find a laundromat. Just kidding, I hope you never have to go to a 14 day Europe trip with only 2 outfits and Crocs.
Traveling with a lively group of personalities? Ice Cream/Gelato and Coca Cola will become your-go-to companions! Picture three strong women and one husband/uncle—let's just say he single-handedly supported all the local ice cream shops in 4 countries.
Just for fun, I thought about linking ice cream shops around the world to this tip and stumbled upon ice cream tours. Would you believe it? There are ice cream tours in London, Portland, and then in Dubai where you get free ice cream on a tour!

Don't be afraid to explore off the beaten path! Sometimes, you discover the most beautiful places. And remember, you don't have to do it alone. We found this hidden jewel, Cinque Terre through a tour guide. Although we only visited 4 of the 5 towns, it was amazing! Tour companies like Viator offer day trips to incredible destinations, such as the Scent of the Sea Cinque Terre Park Full Day Trip from Florence or a Excursion to Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen from Lucerne.

No matter your destination, remember Safety First! U.S. citizens traveling internationally should consider enrolling in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) via the U.S. Department of State. This complimentary service enables the State Department reach out to travelers during emergencies, offers travel advisories, and keeps them updated on safety and security conditions in their chosen location. Mobile Passport Control is a mobile app developed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that allows travelers to submit their passport information and customs declaration form via their smartphone or tablet prior to arriving at the airport. The app is designed to expedite the traveler.
I can personally attest that it works! So, remember to download it when traveling internationally. I’ve heard from several Global Entry travelers at various airports that MPC users often re-enter the U.S. much faster than those paying for Global Entry.
