The Power of Travel
Travel is more than a luxury. It can change your life.
My passion for travel comes from seeing firsthand how it can change people. I believe travel is about more than getting away. It can be about mental well-being, living fully, expanding your perspective, and seeing beyond the world you experience every day. Sometimes, you have to step outside of what you know to discover what is possible—and maybe even discover something new about yourself.
I saw this happen with my own nieces and nephews.
They had grown up knowing life primarily through the lens of Kansas City. Then we took a 10-day Mediterranean cruise together.
Suddenly, they were experiencing history they had only read about. They were tasting foods they had never tried. They were seeing different cultures, landscapes, architecture, and ways of life.
They weren't just taking a vacation.
They were discovering a bigger world.
When we returned home, I could see something had changed in them. They had experienced something that gave them a new perspective and something to look forward to.
One of my nephews even posted on Facebook, “I don't go to bars anymore unless they're in another country.”
He was joking—but there was truth behind the joke. Travel had changed what excited him.
Not long after that trip, I started getting calls from my nieces and nephews asking me questions about things like setting up their financial portfolios. Travel had become more than something they wanted to do someday. It became something they wanted to plan for, work toward, and experience again.
That is why I believe so strongly in the power of travel.
